Social & Economic

Inequality in Brazil

May-June, 2017

Belo Horizonte and Ouro Preto

Brazil's fifth-largest metropolis, Belo Horizonte, hosted students from the University of Texas at Austin to explore and engage with the topic of social & economic inequality in Brazil.

Interacting with organizations, government offices, and communities in Belo Horizonte, the month-long program was housed at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). With lectures and guest speakers, students were immersed in the topic, while further being exposed to the complexities and diversities of the subject through an experiential learning project hosted at a community-sponsored organization.
